Exploring Pranayama through Iyengar Yoga
The Iyengar yoga method approaches the discipline of pranayama (yogic breath exercises) with safe, progressive, and systematic strategies to enable the practitioner to explore its beneficial effects.
This workshop will provide an introduction to pranayama practice according to Iyengar yoga principles, including cultivating requisite physical and mental awareness through preparatory poses.
The teaching will be moderately paced in order to allow students adequate time to process and absorb the teaching. Ideally students will have at least some previous experience with practising yoga asanas, but prior familiarity with pranayama is not required.
