ONLINE: Mindful Flow Workshop
Join Petra for this 90 minutes Mindful Flow Workshop, in which we will use mindfulness techniques and apply them to our yoga practice to encourage a sense of relaxation.
Mindfulness is an ability to be present, fully engaged in the moment, to be aware of the here and now. We practice mindfulness by maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and the surrounding environment. Many times during our day, we can get caught up in our thoughts, thinking about the past or the future, essentially going on ‘autopilot’ and not being really aware of the present moment. By bringing ourselves back to the here and now, we allow ourselves to just be, without the stress of the past or anxiety about the future.
In this workshop we will use the technique of mindfulness and utilise it in our yoga practice, to encourage a sense of relaxation. We will start the workshop with a short meditation, focusing on our breath, and then progressively work our way via a series of smaller movements, into a lovely mindful flow. Consciously bringing awareness to our breath and body throughout the class will enable us to become aware of your body in space, whether it is focusing on grounding or the movement of your spine, and to bring your mind into present moment for a blissful awareness of the here and now.
We will finish the workshop with a short mindfulness meditation, helping us to finish feeling grounded and relaxed.

* No previous experience of yoga and/or mindfulness necessary.
I first started practising yoga in 2004 and during the years had the benefit of experiencing a variety of yoga styles. Having a background in a busy desk based role, I have found that yoga allows me to create some much needed space and flexibility in my body, but also, even more importantly, bring some stillness and peace in the busy world and bring a general sense of well being into my life.
In my classes I use movement of the body to help create stillness in the mind, expect long held poses with attention to alignment and focus on breathing.
I am passionate about bringing the benefits of yoga to all, regardless of their physical ability, fitness levels, flexibility.
I am a 250 hr qualified yoga teacher in vinyasa, hatha and yin yoga.
