Yin into Spring
Join Freya for this Yin Yoga workshop as we begin to transition into the Spring season. In this workshop we will delve into the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine and how this can influence our Yin Yoga practice.
Chinese medicine takes a holistic approach to ones health and much like a Yin yoga practice it promotes balance throughout the whole body. We will be exploring aspects of Chinese medicine by visualising and locating meridian lines, finding organs and acupressure points. Spring is linked with the element of Wood and the organs of the Liver and Gallbladder, we will be working through postures based on Five element theory to encourage the body into a ‘homeostatic balance’.
Yin Yoga postures apply mild to moderate stresses on our joints and connective tissues (fascia) and can help to improve blood flow and overall mobility in the body. This practice is suitable for all abilities and we will be using lots of props to help us along our way!
* No previous yoga experience is required, this workshop will be inclusive for all.
