Join keen runner Kath for her wonderful Yin/Yang Yoga for Runners classes. This class will usually start with meditation and pranayama (breathing techniques) to focus the mind and help cultivate the breath. We will then move into a yang practice; a lovely yoga flow to build strength and make space in key areas of the body for runners.
Then, the class will slow right down into a Yin practice, working through some deep opening in areas that commonly hold tension.
Yin Yoga is widely renowned as a perfect complement to a regular running practice. In Yin Yoga, poses are held for a few minutes; targeting the connective tissue (fascia), which helps to undo the postural mis-alignments that come from repeating specific movements. Yin Yoga helps to realign bones where they meet ensuring a smooth articulation of bones at joints.

Suggested props for this class (don’t panic if you don’t have these available, alternatives will be offered) –
- A Bolster (or alternatives): cushions (you can put some in a pillow case); pillows (two in one case for extra support); sofa cushions; rolled up blankets; a rolled up yoga mat if you have one to spare
- A Strap (or alternatives): pair of tights; dressing gown tie; tie
- Brick (or alternatives): thick books, lunch boxes
- Spare Cushions / Blankets for extra padding and support in our yin poses
This class is delivered online. Once you have booked your space, all the information you need to attend the class will be emailed to you around 30 minutes before the class.
