Leeds Yoga & Wellness Festival 2019,
is all about community and confidence.

This special, one day festival aims to create a space to meet new people, try new things, step out of your comfort zone and learn about how the community you surround yourself with can affect, and improve, your physical and mental health.

Our Yoga Hero instructors, and some very special guests, will come together to  make this a fun, educational day to remember, including a body positive yoga workshop, movement, mindfulness, some daft things and a few wonderful surprises!

We can’t wait for LYWF 2019!

Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a seasoned yogi, or you’ve never been to a yoga class in your life.

Body Positive Yoga 

To kick off our full day focussed on confidence and community, we’re diving right in with a Body Positive Yoga Workshop! Yoga is for every body. There’s always a way to modify for your body, whether you’ve got ants in your pants, you’re super tired, you are missing bones or body parts, you’re caring for an injury, you’re in a bigger body, or a smaller body… every one is welcome. Every one.
Come join us to learn to really connect with your body, to listen to it, to understand how amazing it is that we’re even alive, and why finding tiny bits you love about your body cantransform your whole mental state.
All welcome, no previous experience needed.

‘Satsang’ means gathering in Sanskrit, and this session will be a Satsang about yoga. What does yoga mean to you? What does it actually mean? What is yoga beyond the physical practice? Many of us are drawn to yoga for its physical benefits; be that improving posture, rehabilitating an injury, or just generally keeping fit. However, for many of us, as we continue to practice, we notice that we feel mentally much clearer and calmer…

This satsang is a chance to learn more about how and why this is. Ultimately yoga philosophy is much more to do with the mind than the body.

Mental Health Mates Walk

It’s well known that getting out and about is really wonderful for improving your mental health, and the area around Leeds Dock is so beautiful, it seems a shame not to use this to our advantage!

Plant Your Greens!

This special session with our very own Claire, will be a chance to plant some of your very own fruit, veg and herbs. Get tips for planting and looking after growing plants, meet other ‘plant your green-ers’ and (hopefully!) watch your plants grow in the weeks following the festival!

Sing and Shout!

Our lovely Jess is treating us to a feel good singing workshop. You don’t need to be able to sing, or have any singing experience, just enthusiasm!
Jess will give us a run through of how to look after your vocal health, the benefits of singing (including increasing confidence!) and will lead us through some songs and some yoga chants. Try something new!

Celebrate being a woman, and the wonderfulness of other women, with our Womanhood Women’s Circle.
Our lovely Sophie H will be leading a grounding meditation, indulgent Yoga Nidra, then some time to sit with a cup of tea, chat, bond, chill… whatever you need to do.
Join us for a chance to meet other like-minded women, to have a space to relax, talk and socialise.

Join Holly for a special Superhero Yoga Flow to wrap up Leeds Yoga & Wellness Festival 2019 in style!
Holly will be leading a dynamic, challenging (but all-levels) yoga flow to a (very!) lively soundtrack. Expect to get warm, mobile joints, increase the heart rate, challenge yourself, and smile…
Before cooling down with some delicious Yin and Restorative poses and ending with a meditation about letting go of anything that has been holding you back, then ending with a completely wonderful Savasana.
