Introduction to Postnatal Yoga Course

Join Louisa for Yoga Hero’s Introduction to Postnatal Yoga Course, which focuses on building strength, releasing tension and totally revitalising the body and mind. Our course provides a supportive, welcoming environment, so that you can learn and ask anything about postnatal bodies (yes, ask anything!).

This course is designed for anyone who wants to rebalance their core, and will be of particular benefit to women who have had children, regardless of how long ago. Babies – up until crawling age – are very welcome to come along too!

As well as covering how to steadily build full body strength and flexibility, learn what ‘the core’ is; how to build ‘core strength’, and what the benefits of a strong and supple mid-section are.  Read Louisa’s blog post on core strength here >

 

Week 1 – 21.10.17

We’ll start with an introduction to ‘the core’ – what the core comprises, and why being aware of the core area is vital for overall well-being. Get to know your body; your strength and your flexibility with a delicious yoga flow for all levels, and learn some simple exercises that you can continue to do at home in your own time.

 

Week 2 – 01.11.17

Building on from last week, we’ll introduce using breathing techniques that you can use to stay calm and to help release tension from the body. Learn more about the pelvic floor; what it is, where it resides, and the value of having an reflexive and functional pelvic floor on building whole body strength.

 

Week 3 – 08.11.17

With all our knowledge about the core, the pelvic floor, and indeed the rest of the body, we’ll now start to turn inwards a bit; making time for Mum. Taking the time to listen to your body, and your mind, and what they really need. Indulge in a yoga flow with some challenges thrown in, using what we’ve learnt about building strength, but also balancing this with calm, softness, and whatever it is that you need.

 

Week 4 – 15.11.17

This last week allows some time for any questions, for reflection, and for setting intentions about life, and yoga after this course.
