More about Rachel

Rachel first trained as a yoga teacher in 2012 when she completed the Embodied Dancer, 300hr yoga teacher training. On this in-depth course, Rachel explored the therapeutic benefits of yoga for dancers (both professional and those who just love to move to music). This was also the beginning of her unravelling deeply embedded mental and physical patterns that had culminated in her being acutely unwell with an autoimmune condition, just a couple of years before. Through the practice of yoga, Rachel had “recovered” to a point, but as she was discovering, the journey was only just beginning.

Rachel has continued to study yoga as a therapeutic tool over the last 9 years, including training in Pregnancy Yoga (2014), Mum and Baby Yoga (2015), Womb Yoga (2016), Restorative Yoga (2016), Yin Yoga (2018) and Yoga Nidra (2018). In late 2018, she travelled around Asia for 12 months and spent 2 of those months (in 2019) studying at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai. There she enjoyed studying this school’s approach to Yoga Therapy, as well as lessons in Yoga Philosophy, Indian Culture and Vedic Chanting.

Returning to the UK in late 2019, Rachel continues to combine all of the wisdom and knowledge that she has gained over the years, with her own intuitive, gentle and nurturing approach. Of course, the journey never ends, and she continues to learn and grow and is currently studying a diploma in Yoga Therapy.

Having now relocated to Holmfirth, Rachel enjoys the space of the countryside and can be found wondering the hills in her spare time. As she will not be able to join you in Leeds for your one-to-one session, she would love to connect with you though the magic of Zoom.
