Popping Your Yoga Cherry

Popping your ‘Yoga Cherry!’

Popping your ‘Yoga Cherry!’

Everything you ever needed to know about popping your “Yoga Cherry” at Yoga Hero.

There is something exhilarating about starting a new year; a chance to set goals, make plans and try something out of your comfort zone. But often the thought of starting a new class and stepping into the unknown can be completely daunting. We invite you to pop your “yoga cherry”, to welcome some balance into 2019 and find a new hobby that will benefit your mind, body and soul.

Hopefully the below will answer any questions or reservations that you have, and if not, get in touch with us!

I have zero yoga experience and “can’t even touch my toes!”

(We hear this a lot!) We recommend trying a Yoga Essentials class if it fits with your diary. The Yoga Essentials classes are specifically focussed on beginners to the practice, so you’ll be able to build up your knowledge of the basics.

If you can’t make a Yoga Essentials class, don’t worry, come to any of our ‘open’ classes, which are suitable for all – including beginners. Just let the instructor know that you are new to the practice and they will keep an eye on you!

What do I do when I arrive at the studio?

Just simply let our friendly reception team know your name and which class you’d like to attend, and they’ll check you in. You don’t need to have booked in advance for the class, drop-ins are more than welcome.

Is there somewhere to get changed and leave my belongings?

We have changing rooms and toilets that you can use to get ready for a class, and you can leave your belongings outside in our allocated area or bring them in the studio with you, whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Do I need to have my own mat?

You don’t need your own mat, just yourself and comfortable clothing. All equipment is available to use in the studio, for free.

I have injuries or a condition that affects my movement, what should I do?

That’s not a problem, just let the instructor know beforehand. All of our teachers and yogis are extremely friendly and welcoming so don’t worry.

What happens after the class has finished?

Clean down your mat with the sprays and cloth provided, ask any questions you have or give feedback if you want to share.

Is there anything else I should know?

Yes. The most important thing, ENJOY the class! Yoga like nobody is watching because most of the time everyone is in their own zone. Nobody is there to judge, only encourage. And please leave a review on Facebook or Mindbody, we love nothing more than to hear from you.

Namaste and happy 2019 from Yoga Hero.
